Job summary

Canyon Vista Recovery Center is seeking a full-time Housekeeper in Mesa, Arizona. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe client care environment and supporting infection control standards within a healthcare setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and may require CPR/de-escalation and first aid certifications. Work is onsite, with a Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm schedule. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and custodial tasks in general upkeep and cleanliness of the facility.
• Conducts daily cleaning including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing fixtures, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Cleans facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls; uses buffers and carpet cleaning equipment as needed.
• Washes bed frames and linens; remakes beds after client discharge when applicable.
• Keeps utility/storage rooms neat; operates washers/dryers and launders soiled linens.
• Transports to disposal area and adheres to infection control standards; uses germicides for cleaning equipment.
• Cleans floors, rugs, upholstery, walls and ceilings; maintains slip/fall safety during cleaning.
• Prepares rooms for meetings and arranges decorations and furniture for facility functions.

Full Time Housekeeper | Canyon Vista Recovery Center | Mesa, ArizonaAbout the Job:PURPOSE STATEMENT:The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping a clean and healthy client care environment by maintaining assigned areas in a clean, safe, sanitary and orderly manner. Advises supervisor on environmental services equipment needs and repairs. Ensures that infectious waste and confidential disposal contractors perform as scheduled.Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pmRoles and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility. Conducts daily cleaning of the facility including, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing of fixtures, general straightening, and cleaning of bathrooms.Cleans facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls. Utilizes buffers, scrubbers, sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary.Washes bed frames, brushes mattresses and remakes beds after discharge of clients, when applicable.Keeps utility and storage rooms in neat and orderly conditions.Operates commercial washers and dryers. Launders soiled linens as directed.Attends to infection control standards, transports soiled linen to storage area and distributes laundered articles and items.Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors. Work is performed with careful attention to slips/fall risks during and after cleaning floors.Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment.Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.Empties wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to disposal area.Disinfects rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.Conducts daily check of cleaning cart to determine inventory of supplies. Maintains adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit use.Conducts daily check of linen supply closet to determine inventory of supplies.Properly cleans and stores all equipment and supplies after each shift.Practices standard/universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines, including instructions upon SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for materials encountered during task completion.Prepares rooms for meetings and arranges decorations and furniture for facility functions.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:High school graduate or equivalent preferred.Previous experience in housekeeping in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment preferred.Basic reading, writing, speaking skills and understand English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions required.LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:CPR and de-escalation certification may be required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).First aid may be required based on state or facility.WORK LOCATION:This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:This position is an Individual Contributor.Why Canyon Vista Recovery Center?Canyon Vista Recovery Center offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
