Job summary

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is seeking an in‑home Associate Veterinarian to serve the Central New Jersey area. This role blends compassionate hospice care with the independence of mobile practice, offering flexible schedules and support for well‑being and work‑life balance.

You will join a network of over 400 veterinarians, receive mentorship and a comprehensive onboarding, and engage in meaningful euthanasia and end‑of‑life care that aligns with your values and professional fulfillment.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD/BVMS required and valid U.S. license.
• Weekend availability to cover some weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient handling as needed.
• Background check and motor vehicle record review may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families.
• Deliver compassionate, clear communication with clients during end‑of‑life care.
• Follow Lap of Love onboarding, protocols, and collaborative guidance from mentors.

Veterinarian Salary Range

*Veterinarian Salary Range: 3‑day, 4‑day, and 5‑day full‑time opportunities are available in the Central New Jersey area. Compensation varies based on schedule structure, with 4‑day positions starting at $117,500 and 5‑day positions offering a base salary of $140,000, plus additional bonus opportunities. 3‑Day Full‑Time and Part‑time opportunities are also available in this market and offer prorated compensation based on schedule.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
• Availability to work some weekends
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Candidates will be subject to a background and motor vehicle record check, post‑hire and before their associated start date.
