A Hotel Chief Engineer ensures the property's safety,efficiency, and appearance by managing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, andrefrigeration systems. Key duties include directing maintenance staff,implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing budgets, and complyingwith safety codes. They troubleshoot, perform repairs, and oversee contractorsto provide safe guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Property Maintenance & Inspections: Conductdaily inspections of guest rooms, common areas, and exterior, ensuring allmachinery (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) operates optimally.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and manage acomprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all guest rooms andequipment.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensurecompliance with all local, state, and federal codes, including firesafety, life safety systems, and environmental regulations.
• Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule,and supervise engineering staff, fostering a positive, service-orientedteam.
• Financial Management: Manage departmentbudget, control expenses, manage inventory of supplies, and overseecontractor contracts.
• Guest Service: Respond to guestcomplaints or maintenance issues efficiently and professionally.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Generally, 3–5+ years ofhotel or facility maintenance experience, with previous leadership orsupervisory roles.
