Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a front-end team leader for TJ Maxx in Wheaton, IL. This role emphasizes delivering outstanding customer service, leading a team, and promoting loyalty programs.

You will train Associates, supervise POS coverage, and ensure store operations align with plan while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months in a leadership role.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Strong merchandising knowledge and multi-tasking ability.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive customer experience in-store.
• Lead Associates at the front of store and promote loyalty programs.
• Train and mentor Associates on front end principles.
• Coach on personalizing the customer experience and loyalty programs.
• Manage registers, POS coverage, and break coordination.
• Address customer concerns promptly and maintain a safe store environment.
• Ensure tasks align with store plans and priorities.
• Communicate priorities and provide progress updates to management.
• Provide and receive feedback to and from staff.
• Collaborate with Management on training needs.
• Adhere to labor laws and store policies.
• Promote credits and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
• Participate in safety initiatives and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience. Oversees a team of Associates at front of store ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs. Leads by example by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. Role models outstanding customer service.

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Takes an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front end principles
• Trains and coaches Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs
• Assigns registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates
• Addresses customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience
• Ensures Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned

This position has a starting pay range of $16.00 to $16.50 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
