Job summary

LearnWell in the South Shore of Massachusetts seeks a dedicated Float Teacher for the school year in a fast-paced behavioral health facility. You will provide academic support to child and adolescent patients in a small classroom setting while receiving treatment.

You will plan daily lessons, offer individualized help, and report on student progress. Responsibilities include adapting teaching strategies and maintaining attendance and session documentation for groups typically 8 to 15 students.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• MA state teaching license.
• Comfortable working with K-12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
• Provide individualized assistance to students.
• Regularly communicate about student progress as needed.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
• Manage small classes (8–15 students).

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative Float Teacher to join our team at the South Shore, MA on a full‑time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast‑paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school‑age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school‑age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 40‑hour a week commitment, Monday‑Friday.
