Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this role, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

Two-person teams must be legally married for at least two years, with both spouses 27 or older.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds only.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive student vans.
• Lead daily devotions and attend Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes with a nine-on / three-off schedule.
• Transitioning to a placed houseparent where you live and work with the same group.
