Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Firefighter 1 certification.
• Must hold NYS Confined Space Rescue Technician certification or evidence of enrollment in course.
• Must hold NYS Hazmat Technician certification or Hazmat Modules 1 & 2 (New Course Name for Hazmat Technician/Equivalent).
• Must hold NYS EMT-B certification.
• Must hold NYS Boater's Safety Course certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations including fires, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and rescues.
• Perform fire suppression, rescue operations, and hazmat mitigation while ensuring safety of victims and team members.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and improve firefighting, EMS, and rescue skills.
• Operate firefighting equipment such as engines, rescue tools, and medical response units.
• Maintain firehouse equipment and vehicles and conduct routine inspections for readiness.
• Provide EMT-B level medical care when needed.

What You’ll Do:
