Job Overview

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking a full‑time faculty member to teach and support student learning in nursing and related health science programs. The role includes classroom instruction, clinical supervision, curriculum development, assessment, professional development, and service to the college.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning and provide effective instruction for assigned courses.
  • Develop course curriculum, handouts, lectures, labs, and presentations.
  • Participate in program‑level learning assessment and curriculum development.
  • Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical, internship, observation, field‑experience settings.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, or personal conferences in accordance with the syllabus.
  • Assign grades, maintain student records, and comply with FERPA regulations.
  • Meet scheduled responsibilities such as classes, office hours, and meetings, and notify supervisors of any changes.
  • Adjust weekly schedule to accommodate student learning and provide flexible office hours.
  • Participate in summative and formative faculty evaluation and maintain licensure or certification.
  • Attend college professional development activities and service meetings.
  • Serve on committees, advisory boards, faculty senate, or student organization advising.
  • Assist new faculty in orientation and mentor students during clinical shifts.
  • Perform other academic duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Current, unencumbered registered nurse license in Arkansas.
  • Prior clinical nursing experience.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) – required by the accrediting body.
  • Clear criminal background check.
  • 10‑panel urine drug screen.
  • Current TB/CPR documentation and immunizations.
  • Completed application accepted by 6/15/2026; late applications considered as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of clinical experience.
  • Clinical teaching experience.
  • At least one year of classroom teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Gross and fine motor dexterity for patient care and equipment handling.
  • Physical endurance and strength to support patient care for up to 12‑hour shifts.
  • Mobility and agility for emergency response.
  • Sensory acuity for noticing environmental and patient cues.
  • Cognitive and communication ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with students and staff.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequently manipulates items with fingers and operates keyboards.
  • Regularly sits, stands, and walks throughout the day.
  • Constantly hears, performs repetitive motion, and speaks.
  • Work in a professional office setting with moderate noise; occasional visits to additional areas.
