St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Basic EMT for the Off-site Emergency Department in Mandeville, LA. The role supports bedside care, performs technical tasks, and ensures patient safety under the supervision of nursing staff.

The position requires EMT-Basic certification, a valid Class D license, and BLS. CPI training is needed within 6 months. This full-time role runs 12p-12a with a 42-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current EMT-Basic certification.
• One year EMT-basic experience on an ambulance crew preferred.
• Valid state Class D driver’s license.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR.
• CPI certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be 28 years or older.
• Ability to operate a van and electric patient stretcher.
• Good verbal and written communication; basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist nursing staff with routine care and specialized skills as needed.
• Report any unusual incidents or findings promptly.
• Maintain patient safety at all times for assigned patients.
• Monitor patients at central station and respond to changes in rhythms or oxygen saturation.
• Load/unload patients and operate transport equipment as required.
