Job summary

Moorestown Township Public Schools invites applications for a Full Time Paraprofessional at Moorestown Upper Elementary School (4-6). The position is a 10-month contract with salary range $15.95-$25.13 per hour and benefits through the New Jersey Educator's Health Plan.

The paraprofessional will support certified staff to foster positive learning, personal growth, and safety, including clerical tasks, student supervision, and behavior monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or above required.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with children and adults.
• Ability to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions.
• Understanding of child growth and development for diverse students.
• Knowledge and ability to use technology and related software.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists the classroom teacher in using all print and electronic materials for instruction.
• Provides academic assistance to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Provide prompting, cueing, and redirecting student participation to tasks.
• Helps students who are absent or who need additional assistance with work assignments.
• Works with individual children or small groups in reteaching and reinforcing after instruction.
• Monitors classroom behavior and supports disciplinary strategies when teachers are absent.
• Maintains a neat, orderly classroom and assists in related programs.
• Adapts activities to reinforce objectives; assists with health/PE and related arts.
• Arranges and supervises indoor/outdoor activities; attends meetings/trainings.
• Observes students for behavior/health changes and reports to teacher.
• Performs clerical duties and data records; assists in self-care activities.
• Supervises students during lunch, field trips, bus traffic; follows district guidelines.
• Maintains confidentiality of students and families; supports emergency drills.
