Job summary

The Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hernando, FL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to perform direct resident care under supervision. The role supports compassionate, psychosocial care and aims to promote residents' well-being.

Responsibilities include daily personal care, vitals recording, hydration, meal assistance, and collaboration with the nursing team to develop care plans. CPR certification preferred and prior SNF experience desirable.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from Florida (CNA).
• Current/active CPR certification preferred.
• At least 1 year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well in a team and support company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using assistive devices and proper body mechanics.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and food consumption.
• Turn and position residents; observe changes and report to Charge Nurse.
• Assist in data collection for MDS and care plan development.
• Ensure adequate hydration and assist with meals as needed.
• Prepare residents for meals and transport to dining room; assist feeding if necessary.
• Maintain records of food intake and output.
• Assist with ventilation, lighting, and noise control in resident areas.
• Take temperatures, pulse, and blood pressure as directed.
• Answer call lights promptly and assist with resident needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff as requested.

Summary for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.

• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.

• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.

• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.

• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.

• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.

• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.

• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.

• Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.

• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.

• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.

• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.

• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.

• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.

Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from state of Florida.

• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.

• At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.

• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
