Job summary

84 Lumber is hiring for a Door Shop hourly position. You will assist in assembling doors on the pre-hanging line, use power saws and air nail guns, and help move materials with a forklift. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment.

Ideal candidates can read simple instructions, write basic notes, and follow procedures. This is an entry-level, hourly position with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Reads and understands simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Writes simple correspondence and communicates clearly one-on-one.
• Able to apply common sense to follow detailed but uncomplicated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work on a door pre-hanging assembly line and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
• Operate power saws, air nail guns, staples and other tools to prepare wood for doors.
• Safely operate a forklift to move materials within the shop.
• Select and pull production materials as needed.
• Load, unload, store and package materials as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety rules.

The Door Shop Hourly workers assist Door Shop Assemblers in daily operations of manufacturing doors. The position will include assembling doors including cutting heads, casing, and jambs. They also must maintain clean and safe work environment as assigned and required.

Responsibilities

• Working on a Door pre-hanging assembly line and keeping up on routine maintenance of equipment.
• Using power saws, air nail guns, staples and other tools needed to prep wood material used to assemble doors.
• Safely operate a forklift to assist in moving material to appropriate area of the shop.
• Pick and pull production material as needed.
• Load, unload, store and package material as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all safety rules posted.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
