As a Dietary Cook, you'll prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet physician-ordered diets and resident preferences while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.
Your dedication helps create an enjoyable dining experience that enhances the quality of life for every resident we serve.
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and physician-ordered dietary requirements
Prepare meals for specialized diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, heart-healthy, and texture-modified diets
Ensure meals are properly portioned, attractive, and served on time
Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines
Monitor and document food temperatures to ensure compliance
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas
Assist with food preparation, inventory management, and stock rotation
Receive and properly store food deliveries
Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and leadership
Provide excellent customer service while creating a positive dining experience for residents
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long-term care, restaurants, hospitality, or institutional food service preferred
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
