Job summary

Hi-Grade MATL in Indio, CA is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience as a diesel mechanic or in related heavy equipment repair.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems and repair procedures.
• Proficient in use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic testing to identify equipment concerns and determine repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and testing equipment to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all vehicles and equipment serviced.
• Ensure work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status, parts needs, and equipment conditions.
