Job summary

Pahara Institute at Lone Rock seeks a detail-oriented housekeeping professional to maintain cleanliness, safety, and guest comfort on our retreat campus. You will handle daily cleaning of public and guest areas and assist with room turnover and luggage support.

The role requires excellent customer service, reliability, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team, enjoy shifts that align with retreat schedules, and contribute to a welcoming

Qualifications

  • Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.
  • Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in guest-focused tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, de-escalate situations, and communicate clearly.
  • Strong time management and ability to multi-task during peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of Public and Back of House areas daily.
  • Clean restrooms and sanitize surfaces to high standards.
  • Assist in room cleaning and inspection for guests.
  • Capable of cleaning guest rooms when needed and restocking items.
  • Assist with luggage, linens, and guest amenities during arrivals/departures.
  • Report accidents or incidents immediately and follow safety guidelines.

The role

Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and security of our campus. In addition to cleaning and maintaining common areas, this role includes guest service responsibilities and monitoring security to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to handle a variety of tasks independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain Public and Back of House areas daily per checklist standards, ensuring exceptional presentation at all times
  • Clean and sanitize all restroom surfaces, including toilets
  • Assist in room cleaning and inspection for departing and arriving guests
  • Capable of cleaning individual guest rooms as needed, including bedroom, bathroom, and floors
  • Ensure guest room items and technology are present, properly placed, and fully charged between stays
  • Ensure guest patio chairs and tables are clean
  • Fold and organize linens and towels in guest rooms
  • Help carry, lift, and deliver guest luggage, amenities, linens, and terry during arrivals, departures, and cleaning days
  • Restock and organize housekeeping supplies, including wellness items and supply closets/shelves
  • Occasionally, wash and dry small loads of in-house laundry (rags, cleaning cloths, slippers, etc.)
  • Communicate with guests and staff via tech apps/smartphones; respond to guest needs promptly
  • Accommodate guest requests during their stay, including last-minute equipment transport
  • Escort emergency vehicles to needed locations
  • In winter, assist in clearing snow from walking paths and guest cars
  • Report any accidents or incidents immediately
  • Additional tasks as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must maintain a current, valid driver's license, clean DMV record, and meet company insurability requirements, operating vehicles safely and legally at all times
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, while delivering high levels of guest satisfaction
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and de-escalate high-tension situations professionally
  • Able to read instructions, complete written reports, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to identify and report maintenance issues and follow property cleanliness standards consistently
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to complete duties within set windows, especially during high-occupancy or peak periods
  • Respect for guest privacy, confidentiality, and personal belongings when entering occupied or vacated spaces
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on retreat schedules.
Work environment, physical demands and others
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, up to an entire work shift
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks throughout a shift
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, and navigate natural terrain, uneven surfaces, and potentially slippery/icy conditions during winter months
  • Knowledge of proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, following safety guidelines
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers, pressure washers, etc.)
  • Awareness of proper PPE use (gloves, masks) when required
