Job summary

The Bath Area Family YMCA is seeking staff to supervise and engage children across multiple Y Care and enrichment sites in Bath, ME. You will float between sites, building relationships with parents and staff while helping maintain safe, nurturing environments.

Qualifications include being at least 16, a GED/HS diploma (preferred), experience with children, and ability to run structured activities. The role requires a flexible schedule and strong communication; CPR/First Aid and Maine-specific

Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Youth & Family Director and Enrichment Directors. They will be responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for the children enrolled in Y Care and Enrichment programs. In this position you will build relationships with parents, school staff, students, Y team members, and help manage sites in Brunswick, RSU1, and Bath. This position will float between all sites and all locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Float between all child care sites: Kate Furbish, Fisher Mitchell, Woolwich, Brunswick ELC, and The Haggett Family Learning Center.
• Supervising youth and presenting positive role modeling through all interactions with program participants.
• To meet program goals/rules as outline in the State of Maine Child Care Licensing, NAEYC, staff handbook, family handbook.
• To keep confidentiality, loyalty, and practice professionalism.
• Extremely reliable and dependable.
• Work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing/planning needs.
• Exercise mature judgment and sound decision making.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Learn, follow, and enforce local Y and national guidelines related to internal policies.
• Provide guidance on school age topics/lessons.
• Must be proactive, self-sufficient, and highly motivated.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
