Job summary

Gaston College is seeking a full-time regular faculty member in the Arts and Sciences division to teach chemistry at multiple sites, deliver instruction, prepare and evaluate coursework, and provide student advising with flexible office hours. The role requires a Masters in chemistry (or related field) with 18 hours in chemistry, with preference for a Ph.D.

and broad chemistry training, and prior college teaching experience. Online teaching via Blackboard is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior college teaching experience required.
• Online teaching experience using Blackboard LMS preferred.
• Must meet minimum SACS criteria and other accrediting body standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned classes of instruction in the best manner to achieve student learning; present information and skills to diverse learners.
• Prep, maintain, and clean up lab for their lab classes.
• Provide students with the approved course syllabus and relate instruction and evaluation to that syllabus.
• Maintain currency in content areas through professional development and participate in College committees.
