Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a professional delivery associate in Guntersville, AL who holds a valid CDL and can safely operate CMV equipment to load, deliver and unload merchandise to customers or stores.

You will plan delivery activities, verify invoices, and ensure on-time, compliant deliveries while maintaining DOT standards. Responsibilities include assisting customers, loading merchandise, ensuring product integrity, and coordinating with drivers and customers.

Formación

  • Must have valid Class A CDL to operate CMV in multi-unit locations.
  • In some locations, Class B CDL with air brake endorsement may be required/acceptable.
  • Must possess a valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to pass MVR screen per company requirements.
  • Must be 21 years of age and able to meet DOT/CDL regulations.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to obtain required sales licensure or registration as may be required by law.
  • Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer is preferred (1 year).
  • Experience delivering in-home or retail customer service (6 months).
  • Forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading experience (3 months).

Responsabilidades

  • Provides SMART customer service through Lowe's policies and programs.
  • Assists customers by locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise.
  • Responds promptly to customer questions and walks them through projects as needed.
  • Communicates product information including stock, special orders, features, applications, and warranty details.
  • Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer.
  • Plans delivery activities and delivers merchandise on schedule to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Loads and unloads merchandise, builds delivery loads, and verifies items on the invoice against loaded quantities.
  • Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with DOT regulations.
  • Updates delivery and route status in the system for tracking purposes.
  • Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery; conducts daily vehicle inspections and maintains equipment.

In-stock
  • Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders
  • Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks (within payload) according to delivery order
  • Inspects condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading
  • Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers
Clean and Safe Stores
  • Ensures that the loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Updates delivery and route status (e.g., on-site, completed) on system (e.g., iPhone) for tracking purposes
  • Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery
  • Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and other equipment (e.g., lift gates)
  • Completes Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one’s regular job duties: top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, use of aisle blockers, a tether line on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler)
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Class A CDL License - In locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor trailer & flatbed) a class A license is required to operate.

or

  • Class B CDL License - In locations with single-unit CMV (tandem flatbed) a class A or B license with air break endorsement is required to operate.

and

  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment

and

  • Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements.

  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
Preferences
  • 1 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school
  • 6 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service
  • 3 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle
