Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at East Connecticut State University in Windham, CT is hiring for a full-time cashier/barista. You will handle cash transactions, operate the POS, and support café operations from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Prior barista experience is a plus and online applications are accepted only. This role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, sanitation, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in cashiering and handling cash transactions.
• Barista experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to work full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Performs sales transactions in a timely fashion.
• Enters all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other forms of payment; issues receipts.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Responsible for change funds and cash receipts; maintains cash drawer accuracy.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of service areas and cafe.
