Norwell Community Schools is seeking a full-time Bus Driver to ensure the safe and efficient transport of students to and from school. Responsibilities include obeying traffic regulations, maintaining school bus cleanliness, and communicating effectively with students and parents.
The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial bus driver's license and a high school diploma or GED. This is a great opportunity for a reliable individual committed to student safety.

SUMMARY: Drives school busses to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school and related activities.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to the Director of Transportation and his/her secretary, principals, students, faculty, and other employees of the school corporation.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must possess a valid state commercial bus driver’s license and hold all bus driving credentials required by law. Driver must also hold a valid CDL physical and physical fitness form kept on file with Transportation Director and required Federal agencies. Must also have completed all required training courses offered by the school corporation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and is sufficient to cause marked distractions or possible hearing loss. There are no environmental hazards indicated for this position.
180‑day work agreement. The work agreement does not include additional paid days required for training, meetings, etc. Salary and benefits to be determined by the School Board.
Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Transportation in accordance with School Board policy.
