Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, a 174-bed private psychiatric center in Orlando, FL, seeks an Utilization Review Coordinator to perform admission and concurrent reviews, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The role works with physicians and social services to document care and complete Medicare audits.

The position requires a master’s degree in a related field, 3–5 years chart analysis experience, and an FL license preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work or related field.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing is preferred.
• 3–5 years of chart analysis and utilization review experience in psychiatry/chemical dependency.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission and concurrent review of patients to ensure quality care and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with physicians and social services to document patient care accurately.
• Complete Medicare B-Tag audits and ensure compliance.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments of newly admitted patients.
• Develop updates or re-assessments of patient status.
• Communicate with families and significant others; provide education and advocacy.
• Coordinate with community social/mental health agencies regarding pre-admission status.
• Work as part of the treatment team in developing and implementing treatment plans.

Education

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

3–5 years chart analysis/utilization review experience

FL license (RN/LSCW/LMHC/LMFT) preferred

Strong verbal and written communication
