Stride, Inc. is seeking an Elementary Reading Interventionist for Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM). The role targets at‑risk students, provides remediation to boost reading growth, and supports teachers with RTI implementation.

This full‑time, remote position is based in Michigan with travel up to 20% for professional development and testing. A bachelor’s degree and online teaching experience are required.

The Elementary Reading Interventionist works with the "At-Risk" student population to provide remediation to support academic goals to increase growth in these areas.

This position offers a base salary around $47,000 plus the eligibility of a performance bonus.

The mission of Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM) is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for students by incorporating school and community/family partnerships coupled with a rigorous curriculum along with a data-driven and student-centered instructional model. Student success will be measured by valid and reliable assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth within the academic community.

This is a full-time position. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Responsibilities

• Modifies and/or adapts the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state's content standards to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Ensures the implementation of the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement.
• Oversees data collection and progress monitoring at every tier; Uses data to help teachers plan whole and small group instruction; provides guidance to teachers on identifying and grouping students who need additional help.
• Collects and maintains all RTI data (lists of eligible students, intervention plans).
• Serves as a daily resource to school administrators, school leadership teams, and other stakeholders regarding RTI issues.
• Provides ongoing training and support to school/district staff regarding RTI and the implementation of the RTI and data collection procedures.
• Supports teachers in documenting student progress.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
• This position is virtual with some required travel for professional development and for testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree AND
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
• Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
• Experience with online learning platforms.
