Job summary

Sonic Automotive's BMW of West Houston in Katy, TX is seeking a Body Shop Porter to support the collision center by coordinating vehicle movement, intake and delivery, and maintaining an organized repair environment. This role helps ensure smooth shop flow and supports on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

The position is full-time with compensation of $16.00 per hour. Schedule includes Sundays off, Saturdays required, and benefits such as 401(k) matching, PTO, and employee pricing.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment screenings including drug test, background check, and MVR.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and tow drivers professionally; assist with vehicle drop-offs and direct them to the appropriate location or contact.
• Move vehicles between the collision shop, service drive, and lot to maintain optimal traffic flow.
• Perform walk-arounds noting damage, mileage, VIN, and tag numbers for towed and non-towed vehicles.
• Assist with loaner vehicle logistics and coordination with off-site locations.
• Support quality control and test-drive processes by documenting post-repair vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in shop, lot, and work areas.
• Install protective materials (seat covers, floor mats, wheel covers) as needed.
