Assistant Professor in Public Health - Remote, USA

The Department of Health Services and Leadership, in the School of Health Professions at National University, invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Public Health. The successful candidate will have the potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship in their field and a commitment to serving the University's diverse adult student body. This position works closely with other faculty within the discipline as well as administration contributing to programmatic strategies that support program quality, student engagement, and success. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching research, and service who will contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs in public health. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in one or more core public health domains, potential for scholarly productivity, and a commitment to advancing public health practice and education.

Essential Functions

Candidates will be evaluated for their level of proficiency and potential (for excellence) in teaching, scholarship, and service. The main expectations of this position include:

Teaching

• Maintain pedagogical and subject matter expertise in the instructor's field.

• Serve on committees at the program, department, school, college or/and university level and engage in community activities that promote program outreach and university goals.
• Participate in program meetings and advisory boards to integrate best practices and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications

Education and Experience

• Ph.D. or DrPH in public health, epidemiology, or related field from a CEPH-accredited program required.
• Online higher education experience required.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining courses required.
• Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise required.
• CEPH programmatic accreditation experience required.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population required.
• Experience with non-traditional adult learners required.
• Strong knowledge of public health and/or healthcare administration disciplines preferred.

Special conditions of employment include:

• Travel is required at least once annually to attend the annual Commencement ceremony (if held onsite).
