Lowe's Companies, Inc. in Texas City is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to lead shrink reduction, conduct investigations, and train associates to uphold security standards.

You will monitor store activity, respond to security incidents, and support law enforcement when needed. The role emphasizes collaboration with store leadership, surveillance proficiency, and maintaining a safe environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • If the state or local municipality requires a salesperson license for this position, you must be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of starting employment in this position.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice or related fields
  • Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS) and conducting retail investigations

Responsabilités

  • Coach and train associates and leaders on shrink awareness, theft deterrence, and customer service programs.
  • Partner with Store and AP Leadership to identify theft trends, develop action plans, and promote awareness initiatives.
  • Deliver SAFE customer service and ensure associates have the resources to do the same.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure store environment by monitoring entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas.
  • Monitor activity through surveillance, reporting, and exception-based tools to detect theft, fraud, and policy violations.
  • Conduct external theft apprehensions and interviews in accordance with laws and company policy.
  • Investigate and resolve criminal activity, maintain case files, and support law enforcement and court proceedings.
  • Assist in internal investigations and provide evidence when needed.
  • Validate store security measures (locks, gates, alarms) and respond to EAS and emergency exit triggers.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree Psychology, Criminal Justice
  • Business, Criminal Justice, Safety, or related loss prevention / asset protection field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations (i.e., has conducted at least one retail investigations)
  • Experience in using physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, EAS)
  • Experience in investigations with Organized Crime and asset protection
  • National certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training)
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., LPQ, LPC) or equivalent experience
