Job summary

Behavioral Health Works in Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to support in-home and community ABA therapy for children with ASD. You will track progress, communicate with families, and maintain a positive, energetic presence during sessions.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior support plans, collaborating with a team of BCBAs and Supervisors, and ensuring client safety. The role offers part-time hours, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for growth within a

  • Must meet MA state age requirement of 21 or older.
  • Minimum 60 college credits or 6 months of relevant experience or active RBT certification.
  • Availability of at least 3 days per week for 10+ hours weekly after 3 PM.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive to client sessions.
  • Access to a smartphone for data capture.

Here’s What We’re Looking For
  • Candidates must meet the minimum age requirement of 21 years, as mandated by Massachusetts state insurance requirements for Behavior Technicians.
  • Minimum of 60 College Credits completed OR 6-months of recent work experience with children with developmental disabilities OR an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
  • Must meet a minimum availability of 3 days per week for at least 10 hours per week, with availability after 3 PM to accommodate client and family scheduling needs.
  • You’ll need reliable transportation & must be comfortable driving to client sessions
  • Access and ability to use a smartphone or similar device with internet services capable of capturing client session data
Position Requirements
  • Stay active throughout the day by sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, crouching, standing, and frequently transitioning between floor and standing during therapy sessions.
  • Bring energy, patience, and professionalism while actively engaging with children, implementing behavior support plans, and ensuring client safety by responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors.
  • Lift or assist children and equipment up to 50 lbs. (as required by assigned cases), complete documentation using electronic devices, and travel reliably between assigned client locations.

Expected hours
  • Part-time 10 – 15 hours per week
  • You have 6-months of recent experience as a Behavior Technician (BT), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Paraprofessional, Instructional Aide, Special Education Aide, Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Respite Worker, Youth Coach, Preschool Teacher, Teacher's Assistant, Childcare Provider, Nanny, Babysitter, Camp Counselor, Tutor, Substitute Teacher, Behavioral Health Technician, Interventionist, Social Services Worker, Foster Care Worker, Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Autism Advocate, Mental Health Advocate, After-School Program Staff, Childcare Volunteer, or in a similar role supporting children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • You are currently pursuing or have completed college coursework or a degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Child Development, Sociology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
