Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to build and enhance automation for a critical mission planning system. The role requires on-site work at Scott AFB with potential hybrid remote options and focuses on secure, scalable automated delivery of infrastructure and applications.

You will implement IaC, develop CI/CD pipelines, and integrate security controls across environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with IaC and CI/CD automation.
• Cloud and containerization in AWS/Azure or GovCloud.

Responsibilities

• Implement and extend IaC to support secure environments across dev, test, and prod.

Job description

We are looking for a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to build, and enhancethe automation technologies that power a critical mission planning system for ourgovernment customer. This role is important to ensure secure, reliable, andscalable automated delivery of infrastructure and applications.

This position will require at least two days per week of work on-premiseat Scott AFB.

What you will do:

• InfrastructureAutomation: Implement and extendInfrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to support consistent, repeatable, and secureenvironments across development, testing, and production.
  
• Buildand Evolve CI/CD Pipelines: Developand maintain automated Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)pipelines for rapid, secure, and error free deployments with no disruption inservice to mission partners.
  
• ImplementDevSecOps Best Practices: Integratesecurity controls, compliance requirements, automated testing, andobservability directly into build and deployment workflows.
  
• Security: Implement security mitigations fromACAS findings, STIG Guidelines, CIS Benchmarks, Zero Trust requirements, andother security standards as required by the program
  
• Collaborate: Work closely with development, testing, security, andscrum masters to plan and execute IaC in response to business need.
  
• ContinuousImprovement: Identify opportunitiesto optimize builds, deployments, and operational process through automation andstandardization.
  
• Networkingand Infrastructure Integration: Andautomate network configurations, security groups, VPNs, load balancers, andfirewalls within cloud and hybrid environments to ensure secure, resilientconnectivity.
  
• FollowAgile Development Methodologies: Actively participate in the Agile development process by breaking epics intostories, adding acceptance criteria, estimating stories in points, and updatingstories in Jira.
  
• Monitoringand Reliability Engineering: Engineerautomated monitoring, alerting, and system observability to improve systemvisibility, reliability, and resilience. Support the monitoring of allcustomer-facing environments during working hours.
  
• Respondto System Issues: Respond to issues inall environments by providing troubleshooting expertise, repair actions, androot cause analysis. For root causes that can be fixed by DevSecOps, create anEpic, define the changes required, and work through the Agile development processto implement and deploy the fix.
  
• ProvideOn-Call Support at least one weekper month, be available via phone and no further than 1 hour from Scott AFB
  
• Createself-healing automation thattriggers when issues occur to avoid being called for support on nights andweekends
  
• SupportKubernetes and Containerization bycollaborating / contributing to the creation of IaC for Kubernetes clusterdeployment, security, and maintenance. Support the containerization of systemcomponents, providing developers with the tools and automation required forrapid declarative deployments. Extend the containerization automation throughGitOps tools and methodologies.

You Should have experience with:

Requirements

• TechnicalExpertise: Proven experience withtools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar for IaC andCI/CD automation.
  
• Cloudand Containerization: Strongbackground in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud) and willing tolearn container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  
• SecurityAutomation: Hands-on experienceimplementing DevSecOps practices, including automated security scanning,compliance validation, and vulnerability management.
  
• Scripting: Proficiency in one or more scriptinglanguages such as Bash or PowerShell.
  
• Networkingand Infrastructure Integration: Experiencewith network configurations, security groups, VPNs, load balancers, andfirewalls.
  
• Methodology: Familiarity with Agile/Scrumdevelopment processes and modern DevOps toolchains.
  
• Implementation: Experience supporting lead engineers in automatingdeployment and installation workflows.
