Job summary

Hampton, VA area is seeking an OSHA Competent Person to oversee safety during BMS installation projects. This role requires identifying hazards, possesses authority to implement corrective actions, and coordinating safety trainings in line with client procedures.

The candidate must have an OSHA 30-hour Construction certification (or within the last two years) and CPR/First Aid training. Knowledge of Electrical Safety, LOTO, Ladder Safety, and working at heights is essential.

Qualifications

• OSHA Competent Person definition and responsibilities per site safety plan.
• Must hold OSHA 30-hour Construction course or have completed it within the last two years.
• Ability to arrange or conduct safety and health training when gaps are identified.
• Knowledge of site safety policies including Electrical Safety and LOTO procedures.
• CPR/First Aid training is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify existing and predictable hazards on the Client’s BMS installation site.
• Authorize prompt corrective actions to eliminate hazards.
• Review and align with site safety training plans and policies.
• Lead safety trainings and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Meetthe requirements of “Competent Person” as identified by OSHA for all aspects ofClient’s BMS installation including low voltage electrical subcontractors
• OSHA Competent Person : One who is capable of identifyingexisting and predictable hazards in surroundings or working conditions whichare unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has theauthorization to take prompt and corrective measures to eliminate them
• Musthave current OSHA 30-hour construction course or within the past two years
• Musthave the knowledge and ability to arrange or conduct safety and health relatedtraining if/when knowledge gaps are identified
