Job summary

Smarsh, Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer to join the ProArchive UI & Backend Services team in Portland, OR. You'll build user experiences and backend services using Vue.js and TypeScript. The ideal candidate has strong JavaScript skills, experience with REST APIs, and a collaborative mindset. Qualifications

• Curious, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright and Vitest.
• Comfortable working across multiple repositories or codebases.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain user-facing features with Vue.js, TypeScript, and Vuetify.
• Translate UI/UX designs into performant implementations.
• Design and evolve frontend architecture.
• Work across the stack, contributing to Node.js/Fastify backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and help reduce technical debt.
• Apply Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

Skills

Experience building web applications with TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (Vue.js preferred)

Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals

Familiarity with SPA architecture and state management

Experience integrating REST APIs

Proficiency with Git

Familiarity with component-based UI development

Experience with build tooling

Clear communication of technical ideas
