Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services. You will work on both frontend and backend components with .NET, SQL, and modern tooling, while troubleshooting defects and optimizing performance.

Responsibilities include documenting designs, following secure coding practices, and collaborating with end users to translate business requirements into robust solutions. Continuous learning is encouraged in this role.

Qualifications

Proven experience in software engineering or development role (frontend and backend development).
Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers in a production environment.
Proficiency in the use of REST API and Webhooks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated accountability and ownership for assigned work.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software applications and services with modern tool set (.Net, SQL, Phyton, GIT).
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Document application logic, technical designs, and implementation details.
Follow secure coding practices and FRG organizational development standards.
Independently manage assigned work items and commitments.
Work with the end-user to interpret business requirements.
Design, implement, and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers with attention to appropriateness and performance.
Continuous learning and skill development.
