Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain applications with .NET, SQL, and modern tooling. You will troubleshoot defects, document technical designs, and follow secure coding practices while collaborating with end-users to interpret requirements.

You should have proven experience in frontend and backend development, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to own assigned work and deliver high-quality solutions in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software engineering or development role (frontend and backend development).
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers in a production environment.
• Proficiency in the use of REST API and Webhooks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated accountability and ownership for assigned work

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and services with modern tool set (.Net, SQL, Phyton, GIT)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues
• Document application logic, technical designs, and implementation details
• Follow secure coding practices and FRG organizational development standards
• Independently manage assigned work items and commitments
• Work with the end-user to interpret business requirements
• Design, implement, and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers with attention to appropriateness and performance
• Continuous learning and skill development
