Job summary

Waystar is seeking a software engineer to contribute across the Aware platform with a focus on scalable, resilient solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, and AWS. You will work on diverse areas of the application stack and participate in technical and product discussions with cross-functional teams.

Strong CS fundamentals, 3+ years of experience, and solid practices in testing, CI, and APIs are required. Excellent communication and ownership are essential for success in a fast-growing healthcare

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related area.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern frontend framework.
• Experience with SQL, REST APIs, automated testing, and distributed systems.
• Effective communication and independent work, with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technically to the Aware platform across the full stack.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, AWS, and more.
• Engage in technical and product discussions with engineering, product, and business teams.
• Uphold engineering excellence and continuously improve practices.
