Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks a Software Engineer II to join its IT Delivery Hubs in the Richmond area. You will work with modern frameworks to solve complex business problems with guidance from senior engineers, and contribute to data-driven solutions that move the business forward.

You will collaborate across business units and technical teams to design and deliver full‑stack applications, while staying current with emerging technologies and mentoring others in the tech community.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, .NET, Python.
• Experience with REST API development and technologies (e.g. Confluent Kafka, JSON, Swagger).
• 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot, React, Node.js).
• 2+ years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Mongo).
• 1+ years of experience in stateless design and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications across a full stack.
• Collaborate with business partners, architecture, infrastructure, and development teams to deliver value.
• Stay current on latest technologies and participate in internal/external technology communities.
• Utilize technologies like Javascript, Java, Angular, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, Python, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Kubernetes.
