Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Full Software Engineer II to join our software engineering team. The role focuses on Angular and Java development, building responsive web apps, REST services, and microservices within an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with product, development, and QA teams to deliver features, automate processes, and push monthly releases. A strong background in modern web technologies and DevOps is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in front-end web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong experience with Angular (AngularJS) and Bootstrap.
• Extensive experience building RESTful web services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Strong collaboration in Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and analyze application software; collaborate with Product team.
• Implement responsive web designs across devices and screen sizes.
• Work with Development and QA teammates to deliver new product requirements and improve usability.
• Adhere to Product Development lifecycle, coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in development and production.
• Lead monthly production releases during off-hours to minimize customer impact.
• Automate processes and write maintainable, testable code to achieve operational excellence.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in Software development methodologies and best practices
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in front-end web development languages (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
• 5+ years experience in advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks (AngularJS, Bootstrap, etc.)
• 5+yearsofexperienceinbuildingwebservicesinRESTusingJava,SpringBootframework, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Microservices architecture
• Strong experience working collaboratively using Agile/Scrum methodology is essential.
• Solid experience with Git, GitHub and DevOps tools (Jenkins,SonarQube, Nexusrepository, Maven)
• Fluent in complex SQL and experienced in DB2, Oracle or SQL server preferred.
• Experiencewithmodernagilesoftwaredeliverypracticessuchasscrum,continuousintegrationanddelivery(CI/CD),TDD,andBDD,DevOps,andautomation.
• Experienceworking with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Version control tools like IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse for Java and Visual Studio Code for JavaScript.
• Excellentcommunication,organizationalandinterpersonalskillsrequired.
• Strongproblem-solvingskills, analytical thinking, collaboration across time zones.

• Experiencewithdatastreaming(i.e.Kafka),datamessagingandeventdrivensystems
• Usevisualaidssuchaswireframes,storyboards,andUIflowcharts,toplanandpresentuserinterfacedesigns.
• Conductusabilitytestingtoidentifyandfix issuesandgatherreal-worldintelligencefromtargetusers.
• Usecodingtodeveloptheaestheticsimplementedwithinawebsiteorproduct,fromthelayoutmenusanddrop-downoptionstocolorsandfonts.
• KeepupwiththelatesttrendsandbestpracticesofUI/UXdesignandHCI(human-computerinteraction).
• CollaboratewithbusinessandITdecisionmakerstodiscussuserinterfacerequirementsandbrainstormideas.
• Bachelor'sDegreeor equivalent experience.
• New skills like AI/ML and new implementation like Redis Cache.

For this full-time position, the good faith estimated annual salary range upon hire is $91,900.00-$138,700.00.
