Job summary

IceKredit, Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer II for a fully on-site role in Westlake Village, CA. You will own the full software lifecycle, bridge enterprise backends, data layers, and client portals, and ensure fast, secure, scalable products.

Responsibilities include building web apps and dashboards, integrating with external systems, designing APIs, optimizing databases, and maintaining customer-facing sites. Strong Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS, and testing skills required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree with relevant professional software experience as described.
• Strong backend Java/Spring Boot experience for enterprise-scale apps.
• Proficient in RESTful APIs, webhooks, OAuth 2.0, and API keys.
• Solid relational database skills and AWS infrastructure experience.

The Role & What You’ll Do

As a Full Stack Software Engineer II, you will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle across our entire product suite. In this role, you will bridge the gap between heavy enterprise backend systems, data layers, and our client-facing web portals, handle heavy server-side processing, build elegant interfaces, integrate our core products into client tech stacks, build/maintain critical integrations between our web applications and external enterprise ecosystems, and ensure our products remain fast, secure, and highly scalable.

• Application Development: Build, enhance, and maintain secure, high-performance web applications, modern front-end consumer sites, and internal dashboards.
• Integrations Engineering: Architect, build, and continuously optimize third-party integrations for our web applications, while proactively monitoring and maintaining existing external pipelines.
• API Delivery: Design, implement, and optimize scalable, reliable server-side components. Act as a technical touchpoint to integrate our API-based scoring products directly with client systems.
• Database Management & Optimization: Design schemas, write high-efficiency queries, and proactively improve the speed, performance, and scaling of our databases.
• Elevate the User Experience: Write clean, modular, and reusable code for user interface components using modern design principles.
• Keep the Engine Running: Containerize applications, handle cloud deployments, and dive into the codebase to debug and resolve system bottlenecks when things break.
• Maintain Customer-Facing Websites: Take ownership of our external, customer-facing web applications to ensure a seamless, high-performance, and responsive user experience.
• Stay Agile: Execute high-impact, ad-hoc development requests to support immediate business growth and strategic partnerships.
• Code Quality: Write comprehensive unit tests and actively participate in code reviews to ensure top-tier reliability and performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (or a related field) with 3+ years of professional software development experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (or a related field) with 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Backend & ML Frameworks: High proficiency in Java (Spring Boot preferred) or equivalent object-oriented/backend languages for heavy backend applications.
• Integration Protocols: Deep knowledge of building and consuming RESTful APIs, handling webhooks, managing token-based authentication (OAuth 2.0, API keys), and debugging HTTP communication bottlenecks.
• Databases: Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), with proven skills in performance tuning, indexing, and database efficiency.
• AWS Infrastructure: Hands-on experience hosting and managing applications natively on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
• Version Control: Mastery of collaborative Git workflows and pull-request environments.
• Programming Principles: Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming principles.
• Testing & Quality: Strong proficiency in automated unit testing frameworks.
• Problem Solver: A sharp debugging instinct. You aren’t afraid to look under the hood of a broken system to find a root cause.

Bonus Points / Highly Preferred

• Experience in updating and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Strong Python backend skills (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Hands-on experience developing with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar).
• Proficiency using modern LLM-based coding engines and development environments.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks or building multi-step AI workflow orchestration using frameworks like LangChain.
• Prior experience working in fintech, lending, or dealing with financial data compliance.
