WHOOP in Boston, MA is seeking a Software Engineer II (Full Stack) on the Health team to build and maintain clinical tools powering healthcare initiatives.

You will work across the full stack with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Java services on the backend, delivering secure, scalable experiences for providers and internal teams.

The role emphasizes security, reliability, and design-system consistency, with a compensation package including base salary and equity.

Qualifications

• Experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Experience developing backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and PostgreSQL.
• Experience building secure applications with authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Experience working with frontend architecture, component libraries, and design systems.
• Experience writing automated tests and producing clear technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across the full technology stack in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cross-functional team to build clinical tools and healthcare experiences.
• Develop and maintain full stack applications using React, TypeScript, Java, RESTful APIs, Postgres, Kafka, and AWS.
• Build accessible user interfaces leveraging WHOOP's design system for consistency.
• Design secure backend services and APIs protecting health information and enabling scalable workflows.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions and deliver features iteratively.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
