Job summary

GCI Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and debug complex software products and enhancements. The role emphasizes building scalable analytics-driven software in an agile environment, with cross-functional collaboration across data scientists, analysts, and engineers.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, AWS, Spring Boot, and Linux, and must be a US citizen with active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, and Python.
• Hands-on experience developing with AWS cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture using Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Linux.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing software applications and tools and recommend new technologies to improve performance and usability.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy new software tools to extend or replace capabilities.
• Advise hardware engineers on machine characteristics affecting software systems and resolve incompatibilities.
• Write and update technical documentation such as user manuals and training materials.
• Collaborate across data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software systems.
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work with other engineers to sustain and advance capabilities.
