Job summary

DBA Web Technologies in Reston, VA, is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) with strong JavaScript, AWS, and CI/CD experience. You will design, implement and maintain cloud-based software with agile teams, delivering high quality solutions on time.

The role requires hands-on AWS skills (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, IAM) and proficiency in Java, NodeJS and Python, along with Jenkins/Ansible/CloudFormation. Evening/night/weekend work may be required. On-site in Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering or related field.
• 5+ to 7 years of software systems, programming, database and infra experience.
• At least 4 years full stack development experience.
• 4+ years AWS cloud languages: Java, Node.js or Python.
• 2+ years hands-on with AWS Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, AWS CLI.
• Ability to learn KMS, ALB/ELB, Route 53, VPC.
• Fluency with CI/CD toolsets: Jenkins, Ansible, CloudFormation, BitBucket.
• Knowledge of distributed architecture patterns and cross-functional teamwork.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills; able to work off-shifts if needed.

Responsibilities

• Refine requirements with agile teams.
• Develop complete integrated solutions and deliver quality software on time.
• Create full stack solutions and CD frameworks for cloud deployments.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Ensure acceptance criteria match business needs.
• Provide story point estimates for enhancements.
• Develop and execute tests (unit/integration) and automate testing.
• Participate in code, test and documentation peer reviews.
• Guide lifecycle of cloud-based solutions including dev/ops best practices.
• Evaluate emerging cloud tech trends for DevOps and CD automation.
• Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments.
