Job summary

Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain modern web applications and services across frontend, backend, CMS, cloud infrastructure, and deployment workflows using TypeScript, C#, Python and SQL. The role is hybrid, with on-site work within a 50-mile radius of Thorofare, NJ; remote applicants are not considered.

The team emphasizes scalable, reliable features, performance, and an excellent developer experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with AWS and deployment to Vercel.
• Experience building APIs and backend services in Python, C#, and/or Node.js.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, SQL Server and/or BigQuery.
• Hands-on with CI/CD and GitHub Actions for reliable releases.
• Experience with Contentstack or Sitecore is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain web applications using TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Bootstrap.
• Develop backend services and APIs using C#, Python and TypeScript.
• Integrate and manage CMS-driven content with Contentstack and Sitecore.
• Design, write, and optimize SQL queries in PostgreSQL, SQL Server and BigQuery.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on AWS and Vercel.
• Maintain CI/CD and code quality workflows with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable features.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance and developer experience.
