The Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to collaborate with Researchers and ML Engineers to produce AI applications and solutions based on next‑gen AI research. You’ll be part of a cross‑functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around both front‑end and back‑end coding languages, development frameworks and third‑party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams and product managers to implement innovative software solutions based on requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to develop entire architecture, responsive design, user interaction, and user experience.
• Design client‑side and server‑side architecture.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
• Create security and data protection settings.
• Write technical documentation.
• Work with researchers, data scientists and analysts to improve software.
• Keep track of new development‑related tools, frameworks, methods, and architectures.
• Contribute to research publications and represent MBZUAI at industry conferences and events, showcasing the institution’s cutting‑edge HPC and deep learning capabilities and establishing MBZUAI as a global leader in AI research and innovation.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property and thought leadership in the field of high‑performance computing for deep learning.
• Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with the functional objectives.

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Computer Science or relevant field required.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science or relevant field preferred.

Professional Experience

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Experience working with AI algorithms and the ability to develop systems accommodating AI related requirements.
• Experience developing desktop and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with common stacks.
• Familiarity with AJAX, GitHub & Git.
• Knowledge of multiple front‑end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery).
• Knowledge of multiple back‑end languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Node.js/NPM).
• Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g., Apache) and UI/UX design.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical challenges.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.

$150,000 - $450,000 a year
