Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a junior/early-career platform engineer to design, build, and maintain an AI-powered internal platform. You will own features from development to production, integrate cloud services and AI APIs, and collaborate with senior engineers on system design.

You will work with Python, React/TypeScript, and RESTful APIs, contributing to architectural decisions, CI/CD, and security practices while partnering with business teams to translate workflows into deliverable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• Relevant coursework or self-study in: Web Development, Cloud Computing, Databases, Software Engineering, or AI/ML
• Equivalent practical experience considered in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain both frontend and backend of a new internal AI-powered platform — taking ownership of features from development through production deployment
• Build and maintain integrations between the platform and cloud services, AI APIs, and internal data sources
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code across the full stack (Python backend + React/TypeScript frontend)
• Contribute to architectural discussions with guidance from senior engineers — learning to think beyond the feature and consider system design
• Integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities into the platform to help business teams find information faster, answer questions, and automate workflows
• Partner with business teams to understand workflows and translate them into working software features — with guidance on scoping and prioritization
• Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives; communicate progress and blockers clearly to stakeholders

Platform Development

Qualifications

Technical Skills

Languages & Frameworks

• 1–2 years of hands-on Python experience— professional or project-based; exposure to FastAPI or a comparable async framework is a plus
• React + TypeScript— has shipped or contributed to UI features in a real or production-like environment
• Solid understanding ofREST API designand client-server architecture
• Working experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP considered) — has deployed or managed cloud resources in a real project
• Hands-on experience withDocker and containerized deployments
• Active experience working withinCI/CD pipelines(GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)

AI / Generative AI

• Has worked withLLM APIs(OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar) in at least one project — professional, personal, or academic
• Growing familiarity withagentic patterns and tool-callingis a strong differentiator

Security & Auth

• Working knowledge ofOAuth 2.0 / OIDCauthentication flows — has implemented or debugged auth in a real application
