Job summary

Gen is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to power digital payments across high-traffic platforms. You will design, develop, and optimize full-stack apps with Java/Spring on the backend and React/Vue/Angular on the frontend, while ensuring security and reliability at scale.

You’ll build secure PSP integrations, create robust APIs, and own the entire lifecycle from development to deployment, monitoring and maintenance. Remote-friendly, global delivery across teams is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Frontend proficiency with React, Vue.js, or Angular; HTML5, CSS3, JS/TS.
• APIs across REST, Webhooks, SOAP, GraphQL.
• SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Cloud platforms: Azure and/or AWS; deployment, scaling, managed services.
• Unit tests, integration tests, and automated test suites.
• OO design and common design patterns; Agile/Scrum.
• Global delivery across distributed teams and time zones.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize full-stack applications (backend and frontend) for high-traffic payment platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Build high-performance, secure integrations with global Payment Service Providers (PSPs) using modern protocols and API standards.
• Develop responsive, intuitive frontend experiences using modern JavaScript frameworks while building robust backend services that power them.
• Create lightweight, well-documented APIs for seamless client, SDK, and cross-team communication.
• Ensure high quality of service (QoS) and maintain strong security standards across the entire stack.
• Tackle complex end-to-end problems with innovative solutions and foster a culture of openness, learning, and continuous improvement.

Mission and Goals

• Lead the technical design and hands‑on full-stack development of high-traffic payment applications — from database to UI.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering leaders, and Architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Own and drive complex technical designs of systems architecture and components built using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot on the backend and React, Vue.js, or Angular on the frontend.
• Collaborate across engineering and product teams to build secure, performant systems that meet strict SLAs.
• Contribute to the entire application lifecycle — development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Champion systems architecture improvements and drive continuous modernization of existing services.
• Integrate with global PSPs, ensuring seamless payment flows across regions and providers.

What You Bring

Required (10+ Years of Experience)

• Strong hands‑on experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot for backend development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework: React, Vue.js, or Angular, with solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building APIs across multiple architectural styles — REST, Webhooks, SOAP, GraphQL.
• Proficiency with SQL (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB) databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms — Azure, AWS, or both — including deployment, scaling, and managed services.
• Strong ability to write unit tests, integration tests, and automated test suites.
• Solid Object‑Oriented Design skills and understanding of design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment across distributed teams and time zones.

Security Competencies

• Good understanding of API Security Best Practices for building secure applications across frontend and backend.
• Working experience applying strong cryptographic algorithms and secure hashing techniques.
• Hands‑on experience with SAST/DAST tools to identify, review, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Good understanding of data security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) and their application in payment systems.

• AI Proficiency & Tools: Familiarity with AI‑powered development and automation tools such as N8N, LangChain, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms. Experience leveraging AI to accelerate development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, or build intelligent integrations is a strong plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and the ability to evaluate and integrate AI‑driven capabilities into existing applications or workflows.
