Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Full Stack Software Developer to design, build and maintain Java/Spring Boot backends, and automate deployments on AWS ECS. You will integrate with SAML/OAuth, implement data workflows with Lambda/S3, and ensure secure access for sensitive data at a Bethesda on-site client location.

The role requires a 5+ year background in full-stack development, strong AWS and containerization experience, and a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline is required.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development.
• Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Secrets Manager, ECR, CloudFormation.
• Experience with schema validation (JSON/XML).
• Container-based deployments and CI tools such as Jenkins or CodeBuild.
• Knowledge of secure deployment of internet-facing systems on AWS.
• Experience writing CloudFormation to define configurations as code.
• Location: Bethesda, MD on customer site.

Responsibilities

• Write unit/integration tests and monitor production apps.
• Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement.

HOW A FULL STACK SOFTWARE DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Design, implement and maintain web application backends written in Java and Spring Boot
• Automate and document deployment processes for containerized web applications running on AWS ECS, including third party GOTS products with limited documentation.
• Integrate web applications with external authentication identity providers using SAML and/or OAuth
• Implement AWS data workflows using containerized Java data processors, Lambda, S3, SQS and other AWS technologies
• Ingest, normalize, log and republish data from other agencies
• Implement fine-grained access controls within UIs and APIs for sensitive data, including classified and PII records
• Maintain JSON schema specifications by reviewing changes to written documentation and updating schema content to reflect them
• Develop technical documentation and briefing materials to support program status reviews, control gates, and other presentations as directed by program management
• Coordinate and/or participate in system integration and/or user acceptance testing
• Write unit and integration tests
• Monitor applications in production
• Participate in code reviews

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline)
• Required Experience: 5+ yrs
• Required Skills:

• AWS, including S3, Lambda, Secrets Manager, Elastic Container Registry, CloudFormation
