Job summary

Rainmaker in California is seeking a product engineer to build software across our autonomous drone, weather, and data platforms. You will own features from prototype to production on a small team.

You'll work with operators, scientists, and business teams to identify problems, design practical solutions, and ship across internal tools, platform, data products, and customer-facing software. Qualifications

• Own software from ambiguous problem to production product.
• Strong with React and TypeScript; can work across backend using Python or Node, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Good product judgment and ability to create useful interfaces without a complete spec.

Responsibilities

• Build internal tools replacing manual workflows and help teams coordinate.
• Develop the operational platform to plan, monitor, and review campaigns.
• Make weather, geospatial, flight, and campaign data useful for decision makers.
• Build customer-facing products when needed.
• Work with users to understand problems, test ideas, and improve what you ship.
• Own products through deployment, maintenance, and continued development.
• Improve shared components and technical patterns behind Rainmaker's software.
