Job summary

Town Web is seeking a Full-Stack Product Engineer to own features from concept to deployment. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ship fast, while improving UX and ensuring quality.

The role involves frontend work with Vue.js, backend on GCP with TypeScript/Express.js, and integrating AI/LLMs. You’ll help drive product innovation, performance improvements, and scalable solutions for local government clients.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional coding experience, with 1–2 years in JavaScript.
  • Open to junior developers with strong drive and potential.
  • Able to implement solutions with minimal documentation.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a Full-Stack Product Engineer to take full ownership, learn our codebase quickly, and ship fast.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: Vue.js
  • Backend: GCP, TypeScript, Express.js, MySQL (Drizzle ORM)
  • AI/LLMs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Deepgram, AssemblyAI
Your Main Responsibilities

End-to-End Feature Development

  • Build new features from concept to deployment
  • Improve UI/UX with clean, intuitive interfaces
  • Write reliable test code to maintain product stability

AI & Product Innovation

  • Develop AI prompts and workflows
  • Create structured evaluation tests to measure AI prompt performance and accuracy

Quality & Performance

  • Ensure code quality through reviews, best practices, and testing
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, design, and engineering
  • Share insights, propose improvements, and contribute to the long-term product vision

Location

We’re headquartered in Wisconsin, USA, with remote work available.

The team works mostly US hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM Chicago time), with some overlap required for collaboration.
