Job summary

Neon is seeking a hands-on engineer to build and own the technical foundation powering our consumer product and data business. You will work closely with the founder and Head of Mobile Product to shape product direction and technical strategy.

You’ll design and ship mobile apps using React Native or native iOS/Android, while defining scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and data pipelines. If you’re entrepreneurial, fast‑moving, and enjoy owning projects end‑to‑end, this role is for you.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the US.
• Hands-on engineering depth with daily production code.
• Experience implementing VoIP, SIP, or WebRTC in production.
• 4+ years building consumer mobile apps on iOS and Android.
• Experience with cross-platform development and React Native.
• Strong backend/API skills to support mobile experiences.
• Pragmatic approach to shipping a solid v1.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain customer-facing mobile applications using React Native or native iOS/Android.
• Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) to support growth.
• Own architectural decisions across system design including scalability and security.
• Contribute to data pipelines and delivery workflows at the data business core.
• Establish engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with the founding team on product direction, roadmaps, and feedback.
• Take ownership of projects end-to-end balancing speed and technical excellence.
