Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III within Asset & Wealth Management to design and deliver secure, scalable tech products.

You will contribute to agile teams, develop microservices, and leverage AI-assisted development tools while upholding strong coding standards. The role requires experience across the SDLC, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and collaboration with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of applied experience.
• Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Java, React.js, Angular.js, Spring Boot, and micro-services.
• Experience building microservices-based applications; for full-stack roles, proficiency also includes front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular).
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision, and work with cross functional team.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems, and web technologies, including RESTful APIs and web services

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs via peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Performs technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve problems of basic complexity.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and inform decisions in secure, stable development.
• Learns system processes and skills for secure, stable code and systems.
• Demonstrates ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently solve design challenges.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
• Applies technical troubleshooting to breakdown solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• A. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Java, React.js, Angular.js, Spring Boot, and Micro-services
• Experience building microservices-based applications; for full-stack roles, proficiency also includes front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Angular).
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
