Job summary

TIAA in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Developer to maintain backend Java microservices and frontend JavaScript apps within a distributed environment. You will design, build, and optimize scalable APIs, collaborate across teams, and own technical deliverables with minimal oversight.

The role requires 2+ years in backend Java with Spring/Spring Boot, 2+ years in frontend JavaScript, and AWS experience with relational or NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience developing backend applications using Java, including familiarity with modern frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of experience working with JavaScript for frontend development, including building and maintaining UI components.
• 2+ years of experience of AWS cloud platform and database (RDBMS or NoSQL)

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains backend Java-based microservices and JavaScript applications within a distributed systems environment.
• Builds scalable, resilient APIs and services, as well as flexible and reusable UI components.
• Writes and optimizes SQL queries for relational databases and works with NoSQL data stores as needed.
• Contributes across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Implements domain solutions and executes changes in alignment with established implementation plans.
• Maintains automation of routine tasks through scripting and develops programs to address more complex system configuration and enhancements.
• Creates and maintains documentation related to system configuration, processes, and service records.
• Takes ownership of technical deliverables, working independently with minimal oversight to drive tasks through to completion.
• Collaborates effectively across technical teams and seeks guidance from senior engineers on complex or ambiguous technical challenges.
