Responsibilities

• Recommend, justify, and implement major changes to the web application architecture
• Provide technical leadership and expertise during the development/implementation phase
• Collaborate with UI Designer to prototype the user experience during the design phase
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in the web application
• Propose and evaluate changes to the deployment architecture to improve performance, scalability, and/or manageability

Qualifications

• Expert programmer in Java
• Thorough understanding of Java EE architecture, with a focus on EJBs, JPA, and JAX-RS web services
• Experience writing RESTful web services
• Have worked within a microservices architecture
• Ability to communicate technical design concepts to business and technical stakeholders
• Operate at the leading edge of technology
• Experience with virtualization technologies like Oracle VM and VMWare
• Have spent time as part of an agile development team (preferably Scrum)
• 8+ years of industry experience.
