Job summary

Synechron is hiring a seasoned Full Stack Java Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. You will work with Java, Node.js, and Apache Kafka to implement microservices and event-driven architectures in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Hibernate, Spring Security, and JPA.
  • Hands-on Node.js and server-side development experience.
  • Kafka exposure including producers, consumers, topics and streaming.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern front-end technologies.
  • Develop and maintain Microservices-based applications for high-volume transactions.
  • Build and enhance event-driven solutions utilizing Apache Kafka for real-time data.
  • Create and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, and stream processing applications.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs with scalability, security, and performance in mind.
  • Develop responsive user interfaces using React.js or Angular.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, QA teams, and Business Analysts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and translate business requirements into technical plans.
  • Write clean, reusable code and perform code reviews to mentor juniors.
  • Integrate applications with databases, cloud services, external APIs, and enterprise platforms.
  • Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and modernization initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize Kafka messaging infrastructure.

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Node.js, and Apache Kafka to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building microservices-based applications, developing responsive front-end solutions, and implementing event-driven architectures in fast-paced Agile environments.

Additional Information

*The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities
  • Minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in Full Stack Java development.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Hibernate, Spring Security, and JPA.
  • Hands‑on experience with Node.js and server‑side application development.
  • Strong experience with Apache Kafka including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and event streaming.
  • Experience building scalable and resilient enterprise applications using distributed systems architecture.
  • Experience implementing and supporting event‑driven architectures and real‑time data processing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of application design patterns, object‑oriented programming, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Maven, and SonarQube.
  • Experience with source control systems including Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Banking and Financial Services domain experience is highly preferred

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and implementation plans.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior and mid‑level developers.
  • Integrate applications with databases, cloud services, external APIs, and enterprise platforms.
  • Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and application modernization initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application performance, integration, and production issues.
  • Optimize Kafka messaging infrastructure and application performance to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, technical innovation, and platform modernization efforts.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and operational excellence standards are incorporated into all solution designs.
